KURATA, Yoshiki B.

Dr. Yoshiki B. Kurata is a Certified Industrial Engineer (CIE) awarded by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) and an Associate ASEAN Engineer (AAE) awarded by the ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations. He earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the 91性息港 (2013), Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of the Philippines Diliman (2016), and Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering (Ph.D. IE) at Mapua University (2022), specializing in Cognitive Ergonomics and Macroergonomics in Disaster Risk Management.

At present, he is the national president of the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers 鈥 Young Engineers Section (PIIE-YES) and the International Relations and Linkages Coordinator of the Philippine Technological Council 鈥 Young Engineers Section (PTC-YES). Also, he is part of the Scientific Advisory Board in the Human Factors in Management and Leadership track of the International Conference on Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics (AHFE) and the Human Factors and Ergonomics Track Chair in the International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM) for the Asia Pacific Region.

He has published several journals and conference papers presented at local and international conferences in the fields of human factors and ergonomics, production engineering, disaster risk analysis, and service system operations. His research interests include cognitive ergonomics, macroergonomics, disaster risk, and accident analysis, exergaming and human performance, musculoskeletal disorders, and service science.听

    • This study aimed to determine the relevant factors affecting Filipinos鈥 preparedness beliefs in the risk of the Taal volcano by integrating the Protection Motivation Theory and the extended Theory of Planned Behavior.
    • The results will contribute to researchers and policymakers in developing disaster mitigation plans to minimize the effects of volcano-related disasters and build community resilience to natural disasters.
    • The SEM constructs can be extended and modified to analyze the preparedness in other third-world countries prone to natural disasters.听

    • This study is beneficial for academicians and policymakers as it provided a robust model and results for experts to use in analyzing natural disasters in order to develop optimum disaster risk responses to mitigate the severe effects of typhoon floods.听

    • This study aimed to measure significant factors affecting the Philippines鈥 behavioral adaptability of telemedicine application among Filipino users, through the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) model.
    • This study is the first study on Filipinos鈥 behavioral perception and acceptance of telemedicine.
