TARRAYO, Veronico N.

Veronico N. Tarrayo is a professor at the Department of English, Faculty of Arts and Letters of the 91性息港 (UST), Manila, the Philippines. He is also an academic researcher at the UST Research Center for Social Sciences and Education. He obtained his Ph.D. in English Language Studies degree (as cum laude) from UST. He earned both his Master of Arts in Language Teaching degree and Bachelor of Arts in English degree (as magna cum laude) from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines-Manila, where he taught English language courses from 2004 to 2011. He has recently published research articles in Web-of-Science- (WOS) and Scopus-indexed journals such as TESOL Quarterly; TESOL Journal; Language and Education; Pedagogy, Culture and Society; Innovation in Language Learning and Teaching; Critical Inquiry in Language Studies; Sexuality & Culture; Asian Englishes; Research in Education; Australian Journal of Teacher Education; Indonesian Journal of Applied Linguistics; Asia-Pacific Social Science Review; Journal of Narrative and Language Studies; and Issues in Educational Research. He served as the editor-in-chief (2018-2020) and a member of the editorial board (2013-2017) of the Asian Journal of English Language Studies (AJELS), the official research journal of the UST Department of English. At present, he is a part of the international advisory board of AJELS. Also, he is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of TESOL Studies, and one of the editors of Professional and Academic English, the journal of the IATEFL English for Specific Purposes Special Interest Group. Among his research interests are stylistics, English language teaching (ELT), gender perspective in ELT, discourse analysis, and teacher beliefs/ideologies.
